Brian Fleming was born in Frankfurt a/M, Germany, in 1970, before moving with his family to America at the age of ten.

Formerly a fiction writer and filmmaker, Brian published the short story collection Curves and Bends and Cars That Won't Come Fast and wrote, directed and produced the short film The Last Time I Had Sex.

In 2003 he moved from New York City to Prague, Czech Republic, where he currently lives and works.
